BATTERY MODULE ASSEMBLY
PHOTON AUTOMATION, INC. offers battery module and pack assembly services for your low volume and prototype build needs. We can assemble, laser weld, and perform testing of your battery assembly in one location. Our experience in automated systems and laser applications makes Photon a valuable resource for your battery assembly needs including fully automated production lines.
PROTOTYPE & LOW VOLUME BATTERY MODULE ASSEMBLY
- Prismatic, cylindrical and pouch cell formats of various weights and sizes
- Design for Manufacturing (DFM) services
- Battery module production experience
- Assembly quantities of 1, 5, 50, 150, up to several hundreds
- Full machine shop for fixtures and work assist components
- Mechanical and controls engineering staff
- Laser welding capabilities of busbars, current collectors, and enclosures
- CT scanning equipment to qualify laser welds (porosity & penetration)
- Experience with adhesives & intercell film
- EOL testing capabilities:
– DC Hipot up to 6kV, AC Withstand up to 5kV, Insulation Resistance up to 1000V
– Pulse testing up to 800A at <48V or 500A at <400V
– Flexibility interfacing with Digital Communications
– Module cell level monitoring at <5kHz
– Advisory services for EOL testing

- Data collection (Lab View) and quality checks
- Assist in shipping & crating
- Floor space for material staging, module build and shipping (225,000 SF facility)
